Eva Olive Fontenot

Eva Olive Fontenot, 90, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Creole and then moved to Johnson Bayou and Sweet Lake. She was a resident of Lake Charles since 1937.

Mrs. Fontenot was devoted to her family and she was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

She is survived by three sons, Rayburn Fontenot and wife Gail, Arnold Fontenot and wife Marie Jeanette, Anthony Maxine Fontenot and companion Jody all of Lake Charles; one daughter, Nelva Sue Miller and husband David of Lake Charles; one sister, Martha Doucet of Lake Charles; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchild.

Preceded in death by her husband, Maxine Fontenot, parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday from 11AM-9PM with a rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue Monday at 8AM until time of service.
