EveAnna Darbonne Harvey, 93, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Eve was born on November 17, 1921 in Elton, LA to Thomas and Ezora Darbonne. She was a 1939 graduate of Elton High School and graduated Jeff Davis Vo-Tech Class of 1965 as a nurse's aid. She spent most of her life in Southwest Louisiana. EveAnna moved to Lake Charles in 1998 after the death of her late husband Gerald Emerson Harvey. She retired from Harvey's Garage of Elton, LA, as Co owner and book keeper. EveAnna was a long time member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton and a member of the Altar society. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church of Lake Charles, LA for the past seventeen years. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sylvia Harvey Marcantel of Lake Charles, LA, Jerilyn Harvey Carroll of Oberlin, LA, Diane Harvey Lantz of Lake Charles, LA, and Debbie Harvey Shreve of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Charles Thomas Harvey of Leesville, LA; and eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald Emerson Harvey ; four brothers, Paul Darbonne, Yeave Darbonne, Sidney Darbonne, and John Darbonne. EveAnna Harvey modeled her Catholic Christian faith for her family and friends by her practices and actions in a loving way. She led the blessing at meals as long as she was able. She prayed faithfully every night on her knees throughout her life while able, then stood by her bed, and then sat on her bed. Prayer was a huge part of her faith walk. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed. A mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00 pm Friday, July 10, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home with a 6:00 pm scripture service and rosary. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am until 12:30 pm Friday, July 10, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery Elton, LA.
