Evelyn Brown Mancuso

Evelyn Brown Mancuso, 89, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, January 02, 2013 in a local hospital.


Mrs. Mancuso was born in Albuquerque, NM, raised in Winslow, AZ and has lived sixty five years in Lake Charles. Mrs. Mancuso was an accomplished artist and member of Associated Louisiana Artists, Inc. Her works were featured in the Acadian Art Gallery. She enjoyed volunteering at Moss Regional Hospital and involvement with her church. Mrs. Mancuso was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.


She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Suzanne Mitchell and husband Gene of Clemmons, NC; son, Bobby Mancuso of Alexandria, LA; two grandsons, Patrick Mitchell and wife Sue of Garner, NC and Kevin Mitchell and wife Rita of Orlando, FL; two great-granddaughters, Samantha and Ally Mitchell of Garner, NC and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Boerman and Annette Mobley, both of Lake Charles.


She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty six years, Sam P. Mancuso.


Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 05, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Francis LaRocque will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.


The family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Mir Khan and Mrs. Mancuso's caretakers at Lake Charles Care Center, especially Margentina Carter and Virginia Patterson, for their kindness and compassion.
