Everett Mark Miller, Sr., 87, of Creole passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Miller was born in Pecan Island, LA and lived most of his life in Creole. He served the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Masonic Lodge #439 in Cameron. He was an avid outdoorsman who took pride in living off the land and for countless years worked shrimping and crabbing in the commercial industry. Mr. Miller, along with his sons, owned and operated Miller and Sons Seafood. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of fifty years, Emerlene Lou Landry Miller of Creole; three sons, Everett Mark Miller, Jr. and wife Lydia of Lake Charles; Allen Keith Miller, Sr. and wife Raylynn of CO and Larry Brent Miller and wife Callie of Lake Charles; nine step-children, Herman Lee Williams and wife Linda of Houston, TX, Carmen Duplechin and husband Gary of Nacogdoches, TX, Raymond Earl Moore and wife Barbara of Madison, WI, Veronica Governale and husband Paul of Bayou Vista, Renee Bertrand of Welsh, Michelle Miller of Lake Charles and Patricia Ann Mouton of AL; thirty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dozeta and Willie Hebert Miller; two brothers, Alan and Dennis Miller; one sister, Gloria Miller; two sons, Tyler James and Jason Miller and two step-sons, Boyd David and Charles Williams. Masonic Memorial services will begin Funeral services at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Wallace Primeaux and Reverend Herman Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to those who were there for Mr. Miller for the past fourteen years.
