Evia Gail Wooten, 59, of Austin, TX, died at 11:35 AM on Friday, February 13, 2015 in a Lake Charles care hospice facility. Ms. Wooten was born November 12, 1955 in Jackson, MS and lived most of her life in Lake Charles, LA. She was a graduate of Alfred M. Barbe High School, graduated from McNeese State University with her degree in nursing and received her Master's in Anesthesia from Xavier University in 1997. She always had an interest in antique furniture, interior design and she loved to shop. Gail also enjoyed being around children, dining out, traveling, and seeing live plays. She had a very generous spirit and was always wanting to help others. Ms. Wooten is survived by her son, Andrew Louis Stout of Austin, TX; mother, Leaster LeJeune Champagne and her husband, Roy Champagne of Moss Bluff; sister, Billie Wooten Lyons and husband Rickie of Waldorf, MD; and brother, William Keith Wooten and wife LeAnn of Alexandria, LA. She was preceded in death by her father, William Wooten; and grandparents, Gabriel and Evia M. LeJeune and Susie Wooten. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jared Pugh will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
