Ewell Harrison Guillory

June 29, 1919 — July 8, 2015

Ewell Harrison Guillory, 96, of Lake Charles died Wednesday July 8, 2015 at a local hospital. He was a native of Ville Platte, and a resident of the Lake Charles Area since 1951. Ewell honorably served our country during World War II as a Medic on the frontlines of the European Theatre. Following his military service, he was a pipefitter and worked though local Union 106. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and took pride in his yard and enjoyed gardening. Ewell was an amazing and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was very active in the lives of his grandchildren, and followed in their activities faithfully. He will be greatly missed. Preceding Ewell in death are his parents, Lastie George and Aza Guillory, and Dewey and Evelia Andrus Fontenot; brother, Ray Guillory; son, Jerry Curt Guillory; beloved four legged friends, Lucy and Doodle. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 78 years, Leola Ardoin Guillory; daughter, Judy Carpenter; granddaughters (and pride of his life) Melanie Arceneaux (Chuck), Kippy Greicar (Kipp), and Christy Dailey (Glenn); six great grandchildren and a sister, Betty LaFleur (Floyd). Visitation will be today, Friday July 10, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Scripture Service followed by a rosary to begin at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday July 11, 2015 at the funeral home from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be observed at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father Matthew Cormier will serve as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Prien Memorial Park.
