Exmae Moreaux, 89, of Lake Charles died at 10:04 PM on Friday, August 16, 2013 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Moreaux was born in Elton, LA on March 25, 1924 and lived in Lake Charles since 1945. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
She was an incredible seamstress and also great at crocheting. Mrs. Moreaux enjoyed donating her pieces to nursing homes and churches for charity and she also liked giving them as gifts to people she cared for. She belonged to the Cajun French Music Association.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Judy Bryant; two sons, Charles and Benny Moreaux; and a sister, Betty Vidrine all of Lake Charles; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Melvin Moreaux; two sons, Michael and Harold Moreaux; a sister, Thelma LeJeune; two infant sisters; a grandson, Andrew Moreaux; and a great grandson, Peter Langlanais.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Elton, LA with Deacon John Eaves officiating. Visitation will begin on Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday in the funeral home from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
