Fay Louise Bridgers, 83, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, after a long illness at Lake Charles Care Center. She was born on August 18, 1940, to Thia Clara Fruge and Albert V. Rosteet.
Fay devoted her life to caring for her family and others as a dedicated stay-at-home mother. Known for her strength and resilience, she faced life’s challenges without complaint. Fay enjoyed activities such as word searches, bingo, and was a member of a bowling league. She also found fulfillment in teaching CCD. Fay enjoyed dressing up and participating in school festivals.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: James Bridgers (Liz), Karen Bridgers (Leon Hidalgo) and Denise Whitten (Stephen); grandchildren, Jared Bridgers, Sarah Smith, Katie Guidry, Jake Bridgers, Amber Bridgers, Aaron Benson; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Max, Jace, Parker, Levi, Emma, Avery, Camden, Audrey, Colton, Ethan, Beckett.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James H. Bridgers, as well as her parents, Thia Clara Fruge and Albert V. Rosteet; brothers, Edgar Rosteet and Ray Rosteet; sister, Grace Rosteet.
Funeral Services will be at Johnson Funeral Home Monday July 22, 2024, at 1:00p.m. with Deacon Harold Nixon officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 12:00p.m. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Lake Charles Care Center for the exceptional care they provided to their mom over these past 24 years.
