Faye A. Spillar, 94 of Lake Charles, died at 1:45 AM Thursday. March 1, 2012, in a Lake Charles hospital.
Mrs. Spillar was born in Shreveport and lived throughout Louisiana before settling permanently in Lake Charles thirty years ago. She was always in the hotel management and restaurant business at one time managing the Majestic Hotel and later the Charleston Hotel in Lake Charles. She also owned and operated Faye's Cafe' in Lake Charles for a number of years.
Mrs. Spillar also worked as manager of the Alexandria Country Club. She was an active member of the Louisiana Food and Restaurant Association and served as the association's legislative lobbyist in Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Spillar is survived by one daughter, Patricia Stagg and her husband Earl of Lake Charles: one son Charles Robert Spillar of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Patricia Hines of Baton Rouge and Ruth Webb of Lake Charles; one brother, Jack Aumiller and his wife JoAnn of Kerrville, TX. Mrs. Spillar also is survived by two grandsons, Wesley Vincent of Lake Charles and James Vincent and his wife Aimee of Alexandria; three great grandchildren, Brenner, Daylon, and Wynnlee Vincent all of Alexandria as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Frank and Inez Whitaker Aumiller, two brothers and sisters-in-law George and Alice Aumiller and Frank Aumiller, Jr. and Thomie Aumiller, two sisters and brothers-in law Frances and Dennis Doga and Doris and Henry Hicks, and two brothers-in law, Bob Hines and George Webb, Sr., and a grandson David Vincent all preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Sunday, March 4, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Cremation will follow services. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2:00 PM on Sunday until time of services.
