Felomae Fontenot

Felomae Fontenot, 104, of Lake Charles, LA passed away June 7, 2017 in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Felomae was born on January 19, 1913 in Mamou, LA to Ferreol and Athlicia Bertrand. Felomae loved gardening, playing cards, and fishing. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Felomae worked for many years for Weingarten’s Grocery and Fontenot’s Meat Market.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Floyd Fontenot (Linda); seven grandchildren, Connie Thibodeaux ( Buddy Hebert), Becky Monceaux (Kenneth), Janet Fontenot (Bryan Granger), Larry Fontenot, Jr, Patrick Fontenot (Sue), Shelly Espree (Red), and Tammy Cudd (William); seventeen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband D.M. Darius Fontenot and son Larry Fontenot, Sr.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service with a rosary being prayed at 1:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Fr. Matthew Cormier will officiate services.
