Felton "Frenchy" Lemonia, Sr., 74, of Fenton, LA died Sunday, November 14, 2010 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Lemonia was born and raised in Mallet, LA and has lived most of his life in Fenton. He worked in the construction industry as a laborer and was a member of the Laborer Local 207. He was also a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and was a long standing usher. Mr. Lemonia was quite an entertainer with a quick wit, sense of humor and was a "great debater". He will be most remembered for his love of his family as his greatest times were spent with his wife for family gatherings.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 54 years, Marina Bellow Lemonia of Fenton; four sons, Calvert Lemonia and wife Shirley and Richard Lemonia, all of Fenton; Bradley Lemonia of Port Arthur, TX and Felton Lemonia, Jr. of Lake Charles; four daughters, Marcellia LeDay and husband Clifford of Lake Charles; Deborah Dickens of Fenton, Mary Coleman and husband Glenneth, Sr. and Barbara Jenks and husband Chaney, all of Lake Charles; two daughter- in- laws, Alania Lemonia of Welsh and Tracey Lemonia of Ennis, TX; twenty eight grandchildren; thirty three great- grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Lemonier and wife Lou of Lake Charles and Adam Lemonia of Houston, TX and one sister, Dorothy Bellow of Lake Charles; sisters-in-laws, Fabiola Lemonia of Houston, TX, Ethel Lemonia and Doris Lemonier both of Fenton, LA and two god daughters, Beverly Lemonia of Fenton and Donna Richardson of Maddison, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Antoinette Pappillion Lemonier; grandchild, Destiny Lemonia; four brothers, Preston, Antonia, Frederick and Willory Lemonia; one son- in- law, Larnell Dickens, Sr. and god children, Erna Faye Dickens.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2010 in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Fenton, LA. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Fenton, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service with a rosary beginning at 10:30 AM in the church.
