Ferdinand J. Hebert, 84, of Lake Charles died at 7:16 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mr. Hebert was born on September 8, 1927 in Cankton, LA and lived in Lake Charles for the past 60 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post #1. He worked many years for C.E. Natco retiring after 32 years. Mr. Hebert enjoyed gardening, trail rides, cooking, and watching western movies. He was of the Catholic faith.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Helen Benoit Hebert of Lake Charles; daughters, Barbara Ann Badon and Judy Marie O'Quain and husband Ronnie all of Youngsville, LA; a son, Joseph Myers; three brothers, Walter Hebert and wife Rita of Eunice, LA, Percy Hebert of Arnaudville, LA, and Stanley Hebert and wife Cheryl of Sunset, LA; one sister, Bernice Vincent of Scott, LA; four grandchildren, Mike, Cory, Tessy, and Tina; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; three step daughter, Laura Haase, Debbie Smith, and Lisa Cole; one step granddaughter, Missy Assunto; and two step great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
