Florence E. Davis, 67, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died September 22, 2012 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Born in Amesbury, MA, Florence was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL since 2009. She attended Essex Agriculture Technical High School in Danvers, MA. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Davis was an Office Manager for Towle Silversmith Co. in Newburyport, MA for 9 years. Florence was a member of Faith Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie, FL. She was an avid cook, loved her family, and was an outdoor enthusiast. She was also a civic and religious leader throughout her life.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Esther Headley; a daughter, Cheryl Hemingway; and a sister, Marlene Headley. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Howard Kenneth Davis of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Elizabeth and her husband Gary Hoogkamp of Port St. Lucie, FL and Shari Davis of Lake Charles, LA,; four sons, Mathew Hemingway of Farmington, ME, Steven Davis and his wife Debbie of Lake Charles, LA, Kenneth Wayne Davis of Portland, ME, WO1 Keith Davis and his wife Christina of Houston, TX; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandson. Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Her graveside service will be at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, at Lewis-Davis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate.
