Florence Mercer

Florence Mercer, 72, of Sulphur passed away on March 31, 2016 in her residence. She enjoyed playing bingo, video poker, and crossword puzzles. In her younger years Florence loved outdoor activities, playing baseball, crabbing and fishing.

Florence is survived by her four children, Edward Ray Mercer, Jr. of DeRidder, Lenard James Mercer of Sulphur, Annalee Mercer Myers and fiancé Charles Coleman of Sulphur, and Edith Ann Mercer Tomplait and husband Ronnie of Sulphur; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; her brother, Larry Meaux of Mobile, AL; her sister, Stella Doucet of Houma, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Mercer, Sr.; her parents, David Meaux and Anna Teel Meaux; and her 2 brothers, Henry Doucet and LeRoy Meaux.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 12 noon with a rosary beginning at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
