Florette Marie Comeaux, 77, of Lake Charles died at 6:47 AM on Thursday, November 4, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Comeaux was born in Cankton, LA on August 23, 1933 and lived in Lake Charles for the past 54 years. She had many joys in life. She especially enjoyed gardening and taking care of her plants and flowers. Her favorite past times were reading and cooking for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons and their wives, Glenn and Lyn, Dwight and Cheryl, and David Comeaux all of Lake Charles, and Anthony and Alecia Comeaux of Moss Bluff; three brothers, Paul Dale Miller of Denham Springs, John Allen Miller of Prairieville, and Jimmy Miller of Cankton; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Paul Comeaux of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Comeaux and her parents, Paul and Yolande Miller.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary being held at 7:00 PM in Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton, LA. The Rev. Henry Broussard will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Berchman Church Cemetery. Visitation will be in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro, LA on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Lake Charles Care Center and also to Christus St. Patrick Hospital staff. They wish to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Michael Seep, Dr. Abdel F. Abu Shamat, and Michelle Nguyen.
