Floyd L. Harrington

April 26, 1921 — January 16, 2013

Floyd Lee Harrington, 01, of Holmwood passed away at 1:00 AM, Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at a local hospital.


Mr. Harrington was a native and life resident of Holmwood and worked as a Farmer and Cattleman all his life, and was a member of Farm Bureau and the Louisiana Cattleman's Association. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a sharpshooter. Mr. Harington was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2130 serving in many military funerals. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Mr. Harrington was a devout Catholic and had a great devotion to Praying the Rosary.


Survivors include daughter, Brenda Harrington Sibille and husband Butch; sons, Ronnie Harrington, and Randy Harrington and wife Ellen all of Holmwood; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Ester Romero Harrington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Romero Harrington; brother, A. D. Harrington; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Barbara Harrington; and his parents, Otto and Eva (Primeaux) Harrington.


His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Reverend Emmanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in DeRouen-Lorraine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation on Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Cursillo Rosary at 7:00 PM and continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
