Foy McIntosh, 65, died Monday, September 12, 2011, in a local hospital.


Born in Enterprise, Alabama to Lomax and Arnie Ruth Reeves McIntosh, Mr. McIntosh served in the Alabama National Guard for one year before joining the U. S. Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 22 1/2 years, having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a graduate of Columbia College in Maryland with a BA in English and Business.


Following his retirement from the Army, Mr. McIntosh worked at Waste Management for six years and then joined the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, where he was Jail Supervisor for five years and was a part of the COPS Program for one year. Mr. McIntosh was supervisor of the Calcasieu Parish Funeral Detail from 1999 until his retirement in 2008. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 370 in Westlake.


Mr. McIntosh is survived by his wife of 46 1/2 years, Cleta Jean McGee McIntosh; three grandsons, Gregory and Christopher McIntosh of Moss Bluff and Matthew McIntosh of Ft. Bragg, NC; great grandchildren Zy, Analashia and Elizabeth McIntosh; brother Lomax McIntosh of Enterprise, AL; and four sisters, Shirley Lewis of Panama City, FL, Elizabeth Davis and husband Jimmy of Enterprise, AL, Evelyn Jones and husband Glen of Dothan, AL and Jean Wyatt of Raimer, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his son, Deputy Billy Wayne McIntosh.


Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Mahoney will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 until 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.
