Frances Crawford Baldwin, 90, was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Born to Darius Jefferson Crawford and Addie Pearson Crawford in Natchez, Mississippi, Mrs. Baldwin moved to Lake Charles in 1947. She was a dedicated homemaker while her children were small and then worked as a bank teller and savings counselor at Calcasieu Marine National Bank for fourteen years. Following her retirement from the bank, she generously volunteered her time at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum and Arts Gallery. Mrs. Baldwin was a member of the Eastern Star and the Auxiliary for the Pink Ladies at W. O. Moss Regional Medical Center, where she also served as president. She was a faithful member of Boulevard Baptist Church for fifty-five years. Mrs. Baldwin enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and traveling with her church friends to see other parts of the world. Above all, she loved her Heavenly Father and her family. She was a blessing to those whose paths she crossed and delighted in every cherished moment spent with her loved ones. She was truly a "Proverbs 31" woman. Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Jeff Baldwin and wife Janet of Longville and Stanley Baldwin and wife Karen of Lake Charles; daughter, Lisa Theriot and husband Hank of Moss Bluff; daughter-in-law, Julia Baldwin of Daphne, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Michael Baldwin, Carrie Kuehn, Stewart Baldwin, Brian Baldwin, Chris Theriot, Tracy Breaux, Hunter Baldwin and Kyla Paul; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Gene Baldwin, and one beloved son, Lee Saxby Baldwin. A celebration of Mrs. Baldwin's life will be held at 2:00 PM today, March 1, 2014 at Boulevard Baptist Church. Rev. Theron Watson will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, P. O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA 71211. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved mother to her dedicated caregiver, Lynn Bradbury, and to her faithful church family for their devotion to their mom.
