Frances Martha Nocilla, 83, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in her residence surrounded by her family.


Frances was born January 27, 1929 in Lake Charles, LA to John and Jennie Nixon. Her interests included spending time with her family and friends and she adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always had a special place in her heart for each one of them. One of her passions was always cooking for family and friends.


She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral Church, where she was a Catholic Daughter for twenty-eight years and was treasurer for many years. She was chosen as Catholic Daughter of the year during her 1987 membership. Mrs. Nocilla also assisted the Ladies Altar Society with fundraisers and benefits. In 1977 she made her Cursillo.


Mrs. Nocilla is survived by her children, Anthony "A.J". Nocilla and wife Mary Ann of Sulphur, Marie "Chi Chi" Hantz, Cynthia House, of Lake Charles, Carla Morgan and husband Larry, of Sulphur; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her very special friend, Tommy Coyne, Sr. of Lake Charles.


She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Nixon; husband, Frank J. Nocilla, Sr.; son, Frank J. Nocilla, Jr.; and grandson, Charles D. Morgan, II.


Her funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Catholic Daughter's rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.


Pallbearers for the service will be Frank and Jason Nocilla, Donny, Jared and Daren Reed, and Joey Mere. Honorary pallbearer will be Nick Nocilla.
