Francis Johnson

Francis Leola Johnson, 88, of Lake Charles, LA passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 in a local care facility. Francis was born on April 20, 1925 in Extension, LA to William and Lillie Mae Prudhom. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables, and helping her husband in the garden, and also loved being around family and friends. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She is survived by two loving sons, Charles R. Johnson and Allen G. Johnson Jr. both of Lake Charles, LA; three grandchildren, Kim Ortego and husband David of Lake Charles, Brandon Johnson and wife Candace of Hemphill, TX, and Christi Johnson of Lake Charles; four great grandchildren, Makayla Johnson, Katie Ortego, Samantha Ortego, and Bailee Johnson all of Lake Charles. Francis is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Allen G. Johnson; one son, Jimmy Wayne Johnson; one daughter, Catherine Marie Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Jean Johnson; and ten loving siblings. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00PM with a rosary at 6:30PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home until 10:45 AM. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Garden Cemetery. Father John Huckaby and Deacon George Carr will officiate services.
