Francis Oberly Theriot, 87, died at 5:10 AM on Tuesday, September 03, 2013, in his residence.
Born in Creole, Louisiana to Armogene and Margaret Theriot, he was a 1943 Graduate of Creole High School and a graduate of Port Arthur Community College with a degree in Accounting. Mr. Theriot loved riding and walking the beaches checking cattle. He enjoyed being outdoors frogging, hunting, and keeping up with politics. Mr. Theriot was part owner of Golden Chevrolet, the first automotive dealership in the town of Cameron was chartered, November 29, 1967 with Jerry G. Jones and Francis O. Theriot. He was owners of other companies including Gulf Breeze Lounge, Cameron Oil and Gas, Cal-Cam Land and Cattle, Coastal Laundry, and Cameron Chemical. He was the owner of one of the largest cattle herds in Cameron Parish.
Mr. Theriot is survived by daughter, Nancy J. Miller and husband Tracy of Cameron; son's, Francis Romain Theriot and wife Joanie of Big Lake , Francis Roman Theriot and Companion Tredale Boudreaux and daughter Zoie' of Creole, Skipper Nixon and wife Vicki of Bridge City, Tx , Joe Brian Nixon of Houston; grandchildren, Ryan Hackler and wife Ashley, Jared Morales, Zackary Theriot, Zavier Theriot, James Bryant, Adriano Theriot, Jennifer, Allison, and Merrie Nixon; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Ava Hackler.
Preceded in death by his Parents, Armogene and Margaret Theriot; sisters, Ethel Labove, Edwina Aunt Theriot; brother, Carl Theriot; Granddaughter, Jennifer Renee Mock.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole, Louisiana. Father Tim Goodly will officiate. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday September 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a Rosary at 6PM; Visitation will begin Friday 8:00 AM until time of service at Sacred Heart Our Lady Star of the Sea Life Center.
