Sister Francis Sypher-Joseph was born on April 6, 1936 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to the later Clem and Selina Alfred-Arvie. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Nineth Baptist Church in Ville Platte.
She met and married Linton Adams Sr. (deceased). To this union one son was born, Linton “Ricky” Adams Jr. She was also married Kenard Sypher (deceased). Later in life Francis met and married Morris Joseph on March 25, 2012. They remained a devoted couple until her departure.
Francis attended public school at James Stephens and later established a career at Muller’s Department Store as an elevator operator and sales for 10 years. Also, she was employed by Jack & Jill Day Care and Calcasieu Parish School for 20 year. She went on to become the owner and CEO of Lil Children Day Camp for 5 years before retirement.
Francis is a longtime faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev, Sydney Fontenot, Rev. Berkman Adams and currently residing Pastor Braylon Harris .She was a dedicated member who served dutifully as Deaconess, Choir member, Usher Board, Pastor Aide Committee, and Pastor Anniversary Committee. Her devotion and loyalty to the Lord spanned throughout her lifetime.
Francis love cooking and teaching the art. She also enjoyed family time even traveling to her nieces and nephews’ homes to spent time with her growing family. Francis love shopping and finding a great deal, dinner out at different restaurants, planting roses and flowers but most of all she love serving in the church.
Francis Sypher Joseph departed this earthy life on November 6, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Clem and Selina Alfred Arvie, sister Diana Arvie-Broussard, brother Herman Arvie, sister-n-laws Katherine Arvie, Rosa Lee Arvie and husbands Paul Adam Sr. and Kenard Sypher.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband Morris Joseph, a beloved son Linton “Ricky” Adams, grandchildren, Jauvonnie Adams of Beaumont Tx., Melvin Adams of Houston Tx., Gregory Gallien of Lake Charles, great-grandchildren, La.Jaylon Adams, Serena Adams of Houston Tx., Gregory Gallien Jr., and Londyn of Lake Charles. Also, siblings Rosa Mary Adams, Bertha (Darryl), Gallien, Clarence (Paulette) Arvie, Sherry (Drucella) Arvie, Eddie and Raymond Arvie all of Lake Charles Louisiana and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
