Frank Delano Corbello

February 3, 1934 — December 19, 2020

Frank Delano Corbello, 86 of Lake Charles was called Home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his beloved family.

He was one of eleven children born to H. Everett and Celeste Corbello, on February 3, 1934 in Bell City, LA.

During his childhood, he would enjoy many adventures with his siblings, hunting with his brothers, or playing basketball and baseball for his schools’ teams. As a teenager, while attending a friend’s wedding, he would first lay eyes on the raven-haired beauty, he would later call his bride. After a formal invite for a dance, they would enjoy one of many evenings together dancing at the local hall. On April 4, 1953 they exchanged their Vows of Holy Matrimony at Our Lady Seven Dolors Catholic Church.

As the patriarch of his family, he worked to provide for his wife and children, starting in his father in-laws rice fields, then worked as a Longshoreman at the Port of Lake Charles and at Borden’s Dairy and later at Paul’s Handy-Man Service. He took pride in the work he did to provide for his family, as well as the pride in the forever home he built. Upon retirement you would find him working in his garage, in his yard tending to his pecan and pear trees. He took great pride in his love of gardening and tending to his flower beds, especially around Christmas, the yard display was always impeccable (because Maw willed it so).

In his golden years, his grandchildren kept “Paw” oh so busy, they would enjoy boating, skiing, fishing, crabbing and any other outdoor adventures they could find. Paw’s garage was always in business, fixing the constant broken go-karts or other motor driven toys. If there was a sporting event, you would find him on the sidelines cheering them on for the big win.

Knowing he left a strong and loving legacy for his family to cherish; Elaine, the love of his life welcomed him into Heaven with open arms; also there are his parents; and his siblings, Henry Corbello, Eva Corbello, Ive Corbello, Albert Corbello, Mabel Gary, Rena Bell Daigle, Goldie Miller,Lucias J.
