Francis John “Frank” Draves, Sr., 74, of Lake Charles, passed away in a Houston, Texas Hospital on Sunday January 7, 2018.
Frank was a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota and a long-time resident of Lake Charles. Following graduation, Frank was educated as an A & P mechanic, then worked on small aircraft and helicopters, and eventually sold the use of helicopters to clients. He worked with Imperial Helicopters and retired after working with ERA Helicopters for 27 years. Frank was active in the communities in which he lived as a volunteer at the Neighborhood Community Centers and with his children as a cub scout leader and coach for both football and basketball. He enjoyed Tennis for many years before becoming an avid golfer. He was an usher and active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Emil and Bernice Kathryn Vanoss Draves; son, Frank Draves, Jr.; daughter, Amy Jokisch; sister, Donna Trowbridge; brothers, Joe Draves and Richard Draves.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 56 years, Caroline Lindvig Draves, Lake Charles; daughter, Carrie Draves, Houston; grandchildren, Tracy Jokisch and son Trey, Lake Charles; Travis Jokisch and son Ethan, Lake Charles; Tyler Draves (Christy) and their children Aubre and Tiernay, Lumberton, NJ and Meagan Draves Facio (Patrick), Austin, TX; daughter in law, Deneen Draves, Prairieville, LA and sister in law, Linda Draves, Eden Prairie, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As to Franks wishes, a private Family Mass will be held At St. Margaret Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
