Family and friends of Frank Moses are mourning his tragic death, after a courageous battle against brain cancer. Frank departed this earth on October 29, 2013. He was 65 years young. Born August 12, 1948, Frank was the 2nd son of Paul and Eloise Moses. After graduating from LaGrange High School, class of '67, Frank set his sights on a military career with the United States Air Force. For 25 years, he faithfully served his country, and fought in the Gulf War. He saw the world and loved every minute of it. Frank specialized in Disaster Preparedness and earned countless awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He earned a Master's Degree in Management and Certification in Industrial Technology while in the Air Force and later added Certification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Frank Moses could do it all! While stationed in England, Frank met and married his true love, Jean, who he affectionally called "Bub". He had a special relationship with each one of his 3 children and he wanted to bring all of them back "home" to Lake Charles, Louisiana and he did. After retiring as a Captain from the U.S.A.F., Frank's family came "home" to spend time with his parents, family, and friends. Family was so important to Frank and he continuously put other's needs before his own. He cared for his father until the end, and was a "Godsend" to his mother throughout. When he wasn't helping others, or completing all of his extended family's "honey-do lists", Frank could be found on the Golf Course at Frasch with his "golfing buddies". He also loved teaching Electronics at Sowela Technical College (his most recent career). Frank will always be remembered for his quick wit, kind heart, big smile, and beautiful spirit. He loved life to the fullest and fought hard to stay with his family until the end. We were blessed to have Frank for 65 years. Now, God needs him. Preceding Frank in death was his father, Dr. Paul J. Moses, Sr. and the family's beloved pets - Holly, Taz, and Prissy. Frank is survived by his loving mother, Eloise Moses; his devoted wife of 25 years, Jean; his daughter, Megan Mungovan (Matt); two sons, Richard Lightfoot (Laura)and Nicholas Lightfoot (Paige); his brother, Paul Moses, Jr. (Paula); his sister, Eva Savoy (Wayne); 8 grandchildren, Matt Jr., Benjamin, Joanna, Joshua, Micah, McKenzie, Cohen, and Miles; and numerous nieces and nephews; his in-laws, John and Vi Merritt; his brother-in-law, Dave Merritt and wife Anne. A memorial service for family and friends of Frank Moses will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 3:00. The service will be led by Dr. Ronnie Burke. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to the time of the service on Saturday afternoon in the funeral home. We want to give a special thanks to Ronnie and Pam Frusha who supported Frank and Jean almost daily for two months while in MDA Anderson and TIRR Memorial Hermann, both in Houston. We appreciate the medical support of all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at both facilities in Houston, as well as Resthaven and Heart of Hospice. We also want to thank Dr. Ronnie and June Burke for their spiritual and emotional support through this entire journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Brain and Spine Center in Houston for continued research on healing Glioblastoma Multiforme and/or TIRR Memorial Hermann.
