Frank John Williams, Jr. 82 of Sulphur passed away on June 11, 2013 in his residence. He was born on June 1, 1931 in Greeneville, TN and lived in Sulphur for the past 60 years. During his teen years he worked for Williams Construction, which was founded by his father, who was a 1st generation Italian from Bari, Italy. Frank attended Greeneville High School and was the star running back for his football team. His helmet is on display at the Greeneville High School Athletic Center. Frank served his country in the U S Air Force from 1951-1955 earning the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. During his military years he served in the Korean War. Frank was the parts department manager at Glenn Overman Chevrolet for 27 years and co-partner from 1982 until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and creating works of art from rare pieces of wood. He was a gentle man who loved nature, gardening, bird watching and feeding the squirrels. Frank was an avid fisherman and enjoyed good times at his Hackberry fishing camp with friends and family. Frank is survived by his children, Mary Sue Williams Koch of Houston, TX, Glenn Overman Williams and wife, Renee of Sulphur and Sara Jane Williams Denton of Sulphur; grandchildren, Jason Williams and wife, Heather, Wendy Burleigh, Justin and Katy Denton and David Koch; great grandchildren, Hunter, Ayden and Ally Williams, Olivia Burleigh and Pierce Bertram; sister, Angeline Ottinger and brother, Tony Williams both of Greeneville, TN; his friend and caregiver of 58 years, Esther Nan Nan Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Overman Williams; son, Mart Frank Williams, parents, Frank Williams, Sr. and Cora Williams, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Helen Overman; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Carpenter officiating. Burial will be at Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Friday at 9 a.m. until time of the service. The family would like to thank Dr. James Gaharan, Dr. Jason Fuqua and the numerous caregivers for taking care of their loved one.
