Frank McKlemurry, Jr., 96, of Lake Charles passed away at 9:50 PM on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s home in Jennings.
Mr. McKlemurry was born on December 13, 1923 in Woodville, MS where he was raised. He enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in California where he met and married the love of his life , Irene Rachel Samaniego. They married on May 13, 1943 and moved to Louisiana in 1958 to begin a life together and raise their four daughters. Mr. McKlemurry was a long-time employee of Sunbeam bread company and worked for several other employers in the area delivering milk and bread. He eventually retired from George Theriot's grocery on Ryan Street. He could often be found spending most of his spare time doing what he loved, fishing. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and having jam sessions with his friends. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Frances Fay Johnson of Vidor, TX, Mary Alice Crucher of Beaumont, TX, Helen Louise Hinton (Charles) of Bryan, TX, and Douglas Loraine Stutes (Michael) of Moss Bluff; and fourteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and seventeen great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Irene McKlemurry; parents, Helen and Frank McKlemurry, Sr.; and siblings, Douglas Rice, Alice Abshire, and Ceber McKlemurry.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM in the Southwest Louisiana State Veterans Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Jordan Anderson will officiate. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until leaving for the cemetery at 12:00 PM.
