Frank Steven Benoit

Frank Steven Benoit, 81, of Big Lake, LA died at 4:06 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Benoit was born July 10, 1931 in Cameron, LA, was raised in Cameron Parish and lived in Big Lake for over thirty years. He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from DOTD, where he worked as a lab engineer for twenty-nine years. He attended Friendship Baptist Church, Big Lake Tabernacle and Faith Temple. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Benoit enjoyed fishing and crabbing and loved to share them with his family. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly.

Mr. Benoit is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Carlile and husband Joe of Grand Lake; sons, Timmy Benoit of Lake Charles, Tommy Benoit and wife Teri and Mark Benoit and wife Denise, all of Grand Lake; mother of his children, Betty Benoit of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Joshua Carlile, Amber Vazquez, Jennifer Carlile, Amy Benoit and Faith Benoit; and great-grandchildren, Cadence, Finley, Jacelyn, Brailee, Kelan, Kenzie, and one on-the-way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martial and Dolitia Benoit; and numerous brothers and sisters.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Garry Mann will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery in Grand Lake. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
