Gabrielle Ann "Dee Dee" Pearce

Gabrielle Ann “Dee Dee” Landry Pearce, 81, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away peacefully in her residence, with her son beside her on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

Born December 17, 1940 in Mamou, LA, Ms. Pearce lived most of her life in Lake Charles, where she attended Lake Charles High School and raised her family.  She worked as an operator at Olin, was in management at George Theriot’s and later as a housekeeper so that she could spend more time with her children.  She was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.  ‘Dee Dee’ enjoyed bargain hunting for treasure at second hand stores and loved tending to her neighborhood cats.  She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, cutting her grass, painting, sewing, and anything crafts related, but her passion in life was always for her children and grandchildren.  She will always be remembered as a loving, caring and giving woman and you never left her home with an empty stomach.

Ms. Pearce is survived by her son, John Wylie Pearce and wife Julie of Lake Charles; brothers, Gary Lee Landry and wife Kathleen of Sulphur and Ricky Landry and wife Julie Ann of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Devin Pearce and Caitlin Spears and husband Bryan; great-grandchild, Mia; daughter-in-love, Della Doucet of Lake Charles; and cousin, close friend, and sister-in-love, Erma Vidrine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Eleanor Landry; brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Landry; son, Mark Kevin Pearce; and grandson, Forrest Lane Pearce.

Her funeral service will be at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.  Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the start of the service, with a rosary at 5:30 PM.
