Rain Hidalgo, 17, of Lake Charles died on Monday, September 19, 2016 in a New Orleans hospital after battling a life long illness.
Rain was born on July 26, 1999 in Lake Charles where she lived all of her life. She had attended Maplewood High School and LaGrange High School. Rain had a passion for dancing and practiced at Stefani’s Front and Center Dance Studio. Her future goal and dream was to become a marine biologist. Rain enjoyed arts and crafts and had a great talent.
She will be remembered for her straight forward “sassy” personality.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Angela and Thomas McLeish of Lake Charles; six siblings, Christine Hafer of Cleveland, TX, Grace McLeish, Chelsea Thompson, and Katherine Potts all of Lake Charles, and Alex and Brandon McLeish both of Britain; her grandmother, Josette Hidalgo of Sulphur; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Travis Hidalgo; paternal grandfather, Malcolm Hidalgo; and maternal grandparents, Judy Self and Kenneth Hafer.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
