Gail Ann Myers Fontenot

Gail Ann Myers Fontenot, 71, of Sulphur passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Fontenot was born on December 9, 1948 in Lake Charles where she lived most of her life until moving to Sulphur 13 years ago.  She began her career as an admitting clerk at Moss Regional Hospital and retired from Christus St. Patrick Hospital.  Mrs. Fontenot was of the Catholic faith and belonged to the Senior Circle Travel Group. 

She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and playing Sudoku. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michial Wayne Fontenot, Jr. of Iowa, Julie Ann Portie (Daniel) of Sulphur, and Kendra Clorice Shelton of Nederland, TX; a sister, Margaret Ann Doucet of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Albert Myers and a sister, Barbara Ann Romero.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in the Johnson and Robison Funeral Home chapel in Sulphur.  The Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home and inurnment will be held in Frye Cemetery in Mowatta, LA.  A gathering will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until the start of the service.
