Gail Maria Guillot, 53, of Lake Charles, LA died at 3:30 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in her residence. Gail was born April 9, 1961 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident. She was a graduate of Barbe High School and a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Gail was very active with the Special Olympics and received numerous awards throughout the years. She was very proficient in sign language and was given the honor of signing the National Anthem during the Opening Ceremony for the United Way. Gail was also very active with CARC for almost thirty years and was chosen as a past Mardi Gras Queen. She enjoyed cross-stitch and loved music. Because of her friendly smile and wonderful personality, she was loved by all. Gail is survived by her mother, Dorothy Guillot; sisters, Judith Riling and Marian Chronister and husband Mark; brother, Michael Guillot and wife Janice, all of Lake Charles, LA; numerous nieces and nephews and an uncountable number of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis J. Guillot; niece, Sara Chronister; and nephew, David Riling. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Matthew Cormier will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
