Gale Morgan

Gale Smiddy Morgan, 66, died March 9, 2021 at local facility.

Gale was born in Dallas, Texas to Richard Dale Smiddy and Charlene Winfrey Smiddy. She grew up in Arlington, Texas where she attended Sam Houston High School. She worked in the flooring industry before moving to Lake Charles, LA to be closer to her girls and grandchildren. She worked at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for 10 years in the Insurance Verification department, where she loved to help people. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her sense of humor and wit will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Dale Smiddy and Charlene Winfrey Smiddy.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her two daughters Amy Morgan Allen and Ashley Morgan of Moss Bluff, LA; lifetime friend, Bob Morgan; grandchildren, Clint Michael Allen, Jordan Lane Clark, Jace Dale Allen, Allie Nicole Rodriguez-Almanza (Erick) and Bobby Chase Brunk; great-grandchildren, Erick Timothy Rodriguez-Almanza, Elizabeth Dawn Rodriguez-Almanza, Angel Amor Rodriguez-Almanza and “Bing-Bing” McKinney; brothers, Richard Smiddy (Nancy) of Arlington, TX, John Smiddy (Teresa) of Midlothian, TX and Jim Smiddy of Arlington, TX; special friend, Dean Shue of Lake Charles, LA; as well as, many very special cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and Grand dog Sampson.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home Moss Bluff. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of service. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home Moss Bluff.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care given to their beloved Gale to Dr. Broussard and staff at Lake Charles Memorial Oncology and Chemo Bay, the wonderful staff at Harbor Hospice and Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
