Gareth Lee Leblanc

Gareth Lee LeBlanc, 75, of Lake Charles died at 9:00 AM on Friday, May 27, 2011 in a local hospital.


Mr. LeBlanc was born on April 23, 1936 in Iota, LA and lived all of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Landry High School before serving our country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. LeBlanc retired from Cit-Con as a lab technician. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.


He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Mr. LeBlanc never met a stranger and had a kind, giving heart. He generously volunteered his time and would also care for other people's yards when needed.


Those left to cherish his memory are six children and their spouses, Kenneth LeBlanc and Nina of Dequincy, Nevils LeBlanc and Tammy of Indian Village, Kathryn Courville and Robert of Sulphur, Gareth LeBlanc and Tammy of Lake Charles, Doris Benoit and Russell of Welsh, and Whitney LeBlanc of Carlyss; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and an aunt and uncle, Joyce LeJeune and E.J. of Iota.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Whitney LeBlanc; his wife, Claudette LeBlanc; and a grandson, Cullen Courville.


A memorial service and rosary will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 30, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Jack Reynolds will officiate. Mr. LeBlanc was cremated. Visitation will begin on Monday at 1:30 PM and will continue following services.
