Garland Turano, 78, of Sulphur passed away Saturday November 16, 2013 in his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Turano was born in Port Arthur, TX and was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High, class of 1953. He excelled in sports and lettered seven times in baseball, football, and basketball. Mr. Turano was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and worked at PPG for twenty-nine years. Garland will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother whom had many friends. Survivors include his wife Bonnie Anderson Turano; his daughter, Toni Marberry and husband Ben; his son, Michael Turano; grandsons, David and Kevin Marberry, and Lance and Landon Turano; his sister, Gail Barrilleaux and husband Elridge and special friends George and Stella Satornino. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the Johnson and Robison Chapel, located at 107 West Napoleon Street in Sulphur, LA. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be his family and servings as a special Honorary Pallbearer will be his Uncle Sam Savarino.
