Garland M. Poole

Garland M. Poole, 69 of Lake Charles, LA passed away on November 25, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Garland was born in Lake Charles, LA on June 19, 1949 to Edgar and Beatrice “Tee” Vincent Poole.

 

Garland retired as a general supervisor from Alcoa after 38 years. He loved to fish and play golf. He also loved good food and collecting cook books. Garland was a huge football fan, always cheering for his New Orleans Saints and the McNeese Cowboys. Garland will be especially remembered by his family for his love of aggravating them at every opportunity.

 

Garland is preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Virgie Poole and his brother-in-law, Elmer Cooley.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 21 years, Paula Karam Poole along with his three children, Laura (Brent) Erenwert of Friendswood, TX, Lindsey (James) Eustace of Friendswood, TX and Nathan (Hannah) Fontenot of Kinder, LA. Those who will especially miss him are his grandchildren: Jaclyn and Sophia Erenwert; William, Brisa and Layne Eustace; and, Dean, Rhett and Hayes Fontenot. He also leaves his siblings: Edgar Poole, Jr., Charlotte Poole Cooley, Curtis (Margie) Poole, Larry (Joan) Poole and Sharon Poole (Toby) Comeaux.

 

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5-8PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 9-11AM with a funeral service beginning at 11AM, officiated by Brother Andrew Martin. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.

 

Serving as pall bearers are: James Eustace, Brent Erenwert, Nathan Fontenot, William Eustace, Jerry Kingrey and Rob Ardoin.
