Gary Burge

Gary Burge, 74, passed away in a local care facility on April 28, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Burge was born on April 5, 1944 to Ondie and Virginia Burge in Sour Lake, TX.

He was raised in Singer, LA where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Bult Burge. He was a truck driver who was most recently employed by Laidlaw Trucking.

He will be remembered as a people person who loved to joke. He will also be remembered for his love of watching wrestling and woodworking.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Bult Burge; daughter, Diane Nunez; son-in-law, Russell Nunez; grandchildren, Hunter Collette, Cameron Collette, Matthew Nunez, and Ashton Nunez; great grandchildren, Nevie, Oliver, and Kinsley; siblings, Mary Rose Mitchell (John) and Opal Cooley (LaRue); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Otis Burge; sister-in-law, Brenda Burge; father-in-law, Fred Bult; and mother-in-law, Veda Bult.

His funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. Bro. Kennis Smith and the Rev. John Hoffpauir will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM until 9 PM and will resume on Wednesday from 9 AM until the start of the service.
