Gary Marshall Byrd Ii

Gary Marshall Byrd II, 22, of Lake Charles joined Our Lord at Home, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 surrounded by his family at his residence. Gary was born in Pineville, LA and was a lifelong resident of the Lake Charles area. He was a graduate of Barbe High School, attended Sowela Technical Community College, preparing to further his education at McNeese State University. Gary was avid History buff, enjoyed classical music and the arts. He was a respectful son and person who loved and respected the U.S. Armed Service Veterans and recently was made an Honorary Marine. Gary loved our Lord and was a devoted Christian. Cherishing his memory are his parents, Gary Marshall Byrd, Sr. and Gayle Byrd; his half-sister, Alisha Dianna Mouton; maternal great grandmother, Willie Mae Doyle; two nieces, Aaliyah Renee` and Alyssa Pearl Maddox. He his preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Eada Pearl Hebert; paternal grandparents, Reverend Lloyd Byrd and Jannell Byrd, and his maternal great grandfather, Jessie Doyle, Sr. Gary's Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church. Reverend Johnny Donahue will officiate. Interment will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be today from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and continue from 9:00 AM until time of service at Eastwood Pentecostal Church.
