Gene C. Ardoin, 74, of Magnolia, TX passed away Saturday, September 05, 2015 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Mr. Ardoin was born in Iowa, LA, raised and educated in Iowa and Lacassine and was a graduate of Iowa High School. He has lived most of his life in Texas, Houston, Livingston and the past nine years, Magnolia. He served in the United States Army. During his younger years, Mr. Ardoin worked many years for BFI and Time, Inc. until founding Breathing Systems, Inc., inventing, designing and manufacturing breathing apparatus' for which he was given a Patent and most recently, Niosh Certification. He took great pride in his work and was privileged to have enjoyed traveling the World extensively throughout his career. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying the peace in the beauty of God's creations, gardening and motorcycling with friends across the hill country of Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee He was a member of the NRA, POA Board Clear Creek Forest and POA Board Sandy Ridge. Mr. Ardoin was a generous man with a kind heart and a soft spot for animals. His greatest times were shared cooking, hosting cookouts, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He will be most remembered for his overwhelming love for his family and keeping them close. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife , Darlene Ruiz Ardoin of 25 years, one brother, Melvin Ardoin of Iowa; two sisters, Bessie Richard and Helen Boone, both of Iowa; many nieces and nephews and three "fur babies", Tex, Heide and little Ricky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel Ardoin and Lucille Ardoin. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation Thursday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
