Doug Scoggins, 66, of Lake Charles passed away on January 16, 2018 in a local hospital.
Doug was born in Fort Polk, LA on June 2, 1951 to Bo and Marie Holifield Scoggins.
He graduated from LaGrange High School and LA Tech Univeristy. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathy Condit Scoggins; his son, Brad Scoggins and his wife Niki; his son, Ben Scoggins; stepson, Brian Trouard and his wife Erin; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Doug retired from Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer after 40 years. He was active member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. He loved to fish, hunt, and tell big stories. He enjoyed football, especially McNeese and LSU. Doug was very proud of his Master’s Degree in Frying Turkeys, the art of which he perfected every Thanksgiving! He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 27 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 123 West Sale Road, Lake Charles, LA. Following the service, a Celebration of Life reception will be held in the church Parish Hall.
