Genevieve Hooper

Genevieve Hooper, 89, of Westlake passed away at 5:50 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in a local care facility. Mrs. Hooper was born on June 29, 1925 in Mermentau, LA and moved to Lake Charles in 1932. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Westlake. Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Rhon Hooper and wife Kim of Westlake; a daughter, Cheryl Dianne Hebert and husband Dexter of Burleson, TX; four grandchildren, Kempa Spalding, Kyla Pickrell, Adam Hooper, and Knielie Hooper; and three great grandchildren, Sandon and Shelby Spalding and Kelby Pickrell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Herman Cecil Hooper and a son, Benny Cecil Hooper. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Bellview Baptist Church in Westlake. The Rev. John Ward and Rev. Oliver McGuire will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
