Genevieve "Dutch" R. King, 87, of Lake Charles, La passed away from this life on Saturday, November 28, 2014 in a local care facility surrounded by her family. Dutch was born on July 10, 1927 in Lake Charles, La to James and Eloise Rhorer. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High School where she was a member of the Kilties. She then graduated from charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans. She practiced nursing until her husband graduated from LSU. After she raised her two sons she worked at McNeese Credit Union and retired after 19 years of service. She was a loving sister, wife, and mother who helped many people in her life. She did private duty at St. Patrick's Hospital and at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, La. She is survived by her son, Mike King; one sister, Charlotte Lee; and nephews, Jim Lee all of Lake Charles, La; nephew, Jim Anderson; niece Susan Miori, both of Victoria, TX and; nephew, John Lee of Scott, La She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Robert J. King; sister, Marceline Anderson; her youngest son, Pat King; infant daughter, Anne King; and nephew, Chuck Lee. Services will be at 1:30 Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 3 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Girls and Boys Village Foundation. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, Shirley Gobert, Virgie Lyons, and Verdie Daniels.
