Genevieve Liechty Heintz, 87, of Sulphur, LA died at 5:00 AM on Sunday, September 12, 2010 in a local hospital.
Born March 18, 1923 in Welsh, LA, Mrs. Heintz has lived in Sulphur for over thirty years. She was a member of the University United Methodist Church in Lake Charles. She graduated from McNeese Junior College in 1942 and taught school briefly. She was proud to have worked as a parachute packer during WWII. She was presently a resident of Grand Cove Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. "Hub" Heintz; her parents, Jacob and Frances Liechty; as well as her sisters Lou Kingrey of Kinder and Dena Johnson of Lake Charles; and two brothers, Lester Liechty of Lake Charles and Ray Liechty of Kinder.
Mrs. Heintz is survived by several nieces and nephews, along with great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Charlie Langford will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
