Genevive "Gen" Crain

Genevive “Gen” Crain, 89, was born on April 17, 1934 in Crowley, Louisiana. She died on July 7, 2023 at the age of 89 in Sulphur, Louisiana at Holly Hill Nursing Home. Gen was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 5, 1969 at the age of 35. She spent a number of years in nursing homes. Gen enjoyed horseback riding, refurbishing and selling bicycles, making Plaster of Paris figurines and wall plaques, then selling them to be painted or painting them for you. There were years when she milked cows, then bringing the milk to Lake Charles for it to be sold. Gen loved studying the Bible and felt comfort in serving her God, Jehovah.

Gen is survived by her son, Russell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Orida murphy; 2 sisters, Shirley and Gertrude; and a brother, Lonnie.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2-4 P.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 4 P.M. with Br. David Zoblisien officiating. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
