George Broxson, Sr.

George Broxson, Sr. 69, of Sulphur, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, in a local hospice facility

George aka, “Old Man George or Paw Paw Mickey” was born in Florida and moved to Sulphur over 40 years ago. He was the owner of Broxson Drywall for 40 plus years. George loved working with his hands - drywall work, building things, and working on old cars were among his favorites. He was a “jack of all trades”; family and friends knew if you needed something fixed, you called George. He loved sitting on his front porch “people watching” and using his lawnmower to ride from house-to-house visiting family and friends. George loved his family and treasured time spent with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his always having a “witty” comment and reminding his family that “his way” was always the right way. His willingness to always let you know his opinion (good or bad) will be greatly missed by those who know and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his soul mate, Margie Broxson; five children, Tammy Jardneaux, George Broxson, Jr. and his wife Amanda, Monica Spears and her husband Larry, Jimmy Broxson, and Lisa Vincent and her husband Josh; twenty grandchildren, Christopher Vincent, Krista Broxson, Laura Jardneaux, Jullee Jardneaux, Johnny “Little Johnny” Jardneaux, III, Jammie Benoit, Jr., Tanner Benoit, Taylor Spears, Timothy Spears, Gage Myers, Wesley Broxson, Justin Broxson, Emily Broxson, Haley Broxson, Kalyn Broxson, Jimmy Broxson, Jr. Keicie Broxson, Carson Vincent, Cooper Vincent, and Ellie Mae Vincent; eleven great grandchildren, Christopher, Braylee, Greyson, Bentley, Hadley, Grayson, Kaysen, Baylee, Raelynn, Emmarie, Ryder and one on the way. He will also be greatly missed by his brother, Ronnie Broxson of Florida.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Delia Broxson; and six siblings, Willard, Doug, L.D., Dan, Barbara, and David Broxson.

A Celebration of Life service will be 6:30PM, on Monday, December 26, 2022, in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will be held Monday from 1PM to 6:20PM in the funeral home.
