George Moore Eblen, 61, of Westlake passed away at 10:05 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in a local hospital.
Mr. Eblen was born on December 29, 1962 in Lake Charles, LA. At an early age the family lived in the state of Iowa until moving to Westlake in 1976 where he was a graduate of Westlake High School. His early love for building model car kits evolved into a skilled career in automotive paint and body work which guided him to open and operate George’s Paint and Body before working for Briley’s Paint and Body. In 2005, he became an independent insurance adjuster. Mr. Eblen was a member of New Life Church in Westlake.
From riding minibikes in his youth to exploring the open road on motorcycles with his family, Eblen embraced adventure. He also had a love for travel and his curiosity led him to trying new foods.
A compassionate individual with a genuinely kind and generous spirit, he touched the lives of everyone he encountered. Known for his immense heart and selflessness, he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile and his endless jokes. A devoted father, he found his greatest joy in being there for his children, cherishing every moment spent with them. His commitment to his family was evident in his cherished family game nights and the joy he found in spending time with his loved ones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Annabel Lampayan Eblen of Westlake; children, Courtney Eblen Williams (Justin) of Lake Charles, Kristopher Eblen (Anne) of Lake Charles, Kody Eblen of California, and Necole Lampayan of Westlake; his father, Richard L. Eblen; siblings, David Eblen of Indiana, Debbie Eblen Perry (Kenneth) of Iowa, Rae Ann Eblen Pappion (Kevin) of Lake Charles; and his beloved grandchildren, Jared and Ryan Williams.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta L. Nereaux Eblen; maternal grandparents, Walter and Irene Nereaux; paternal grandparents, George Moore and Edna Eblen; and a niece, Jennifer Prince.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Mike Richards will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
