George Pervick Guillory, Sr.

November 17, 1929 — December 30, 2012

A resident of Lake Charles, he passed away at home on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the age of 83.


He was a retired truck driver and former Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Deputy. He enjoyed his livestock. Mr. Guillory was formerly a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Knights of St. Peter Claver 31 Sacred Heart Council, St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where he was an usher and was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local.


Visiting will be at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with the rosary beginning at 8:00 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Saturday, January 5, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 5495 Elliot Road. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Brenda Minor Guillory; four sons, George Pervick, Jr. (Jackie), Sulphur, LA, Joseph Wilbert (Diane), Houston, TX, Lee Anthony, San Jose, CA, and Isaac Peter (Kellie), Lake Charles, LA; three daughters, Nancy Marie Simien (Mark), Baton Rouge, LA, Lillie Mae Guillory, Austin, TX, and Glenda Faye Landrow (Chuck), Milton, FL; two brothers, John Guillory (Juanita), Lemon Grove, CA, and Alan Guillory, Los Angeles, CA; one sister-in-law, Eta Guillory; 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Avelia Green Guillory; his first wife, Ann Esther LaCour Guillory; his second wife, Geraldine Guillory; two sons, James Ray and Paul Ray Guillory; one daughter, Patricia Ann Guillory; three brothers, Carlton, Ernest, and Nelson Guillory; four sisters, Ida Rodriguez, Helia Rodriguez, Mary Perkins, and Nola Perkins, and one grandchild.


The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Father Keith Pellerin, and the nurses and staff of Home Health 2000 and Hospice 2000 for their excellence in care and compassion.
