George Ronald Chambers

April 3, 1940 — January 21, 2015

George Ronald Chambers, 74 of Carlyss passed away on January 21, 2015 in a local hospital. George was an Instrument Engineer for 12 years at the Westlake Petrochemical Plant in Lake Charles. After retirement he was known as "Mr. George" in his lawnmower repair shop. George served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He attended Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church in Lake Charles. George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Priscilla "Patty" Chambers of Carlyss; two daughters, Robin Freeman and husband Roger of Goldonna, LA and Kelly Webb and husband Jonathan of Carlyss; two grandchildren, Jason Bamburg of Natchitoches and Ava Lea Webb of Carlyss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Cooper Chambers and Cleo Chambers and a sister, Barbara Canter. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Hundley officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the funeral home from 12 P.M. until time of the service.
