Gerald Jerry Morris Miller

Gerald M. Jerry Miller, 61, went to meet the Lord around 11:00 AM Saturday August 3, 2013 at his residence.

Jerry was born in Crowley on July 26, 1952 to C.J. and Mildred Ardoin Miller. Jerry loved his family and close friends. He was a very easy going man who would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone. He enjoyed spending time working on electronics, clocks and other gadgets. He was an employee of Citgo Petroleum Inc. for 39 years. He was a very active member of St. Martin de Pores Catholic Church. Jerry was also on the board of directors for CSE Federal Credit Union.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Myra Lynn Young Miller; son, Lance Miller and wife Michelle; daughter, Laura Hebert and husband Travis; two grandchildren, Emily Miller and Mason Hebert, with the third, Ethan Miller, on his way; one brother, Randall Keith Miller and wife Liz; two sisters, Geraldine Miller and Jackie Canik. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Miller.

A funeral Mass will be observed at 11:00 AM Tuesday August 6, 2013 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, August 5, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM, at Johnson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Hoover, Terry Horne, Kenny Young, Elroy Ardoin, Keith Miller and Paul Melton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Gardner and Michelle Mercer.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Hillman Turner and his son Clint, Kenny Martel and all the deputies and paramedics for their help and assistance as well as all of our close friends, neighbors, co-workers and extended family for the support and prayers shown to us at this difficult time.
