Gerald Kenneth Jordan

Gerald Gerry K. Jordan passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Gerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Pineville, LA on November 27, 1933 and grew up in Rigoulette, LA. He graduated from Tioga High School and Louisiana College before going to work at PPG Industries where he worked for 42 years. Gerry retired from PPG in1997 as manager of Operational Services. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, William Benjamin and Gustava Brown Jordan, and his sister, Inez Jordan Aucoin. Gerry is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Potter Jordan; his son, Joel Jordan and wife Karen of Wylie, TX; his daughter, Sean and her husband Matt Kaspar of Austin, TX; his daughter, Julie and her husband Scott Kumler of Baton Rouge, LA. He is survived by a brother, William H. Jordan and wife Elayne of Baton Rouge, LA; a brother, Winston E. Jordan and wife Lorena of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is survived by his nephew, Dick Seale, who was raised like his brother. Dick and his wife Judy are from Naples, Florida. He is also survived by three step children, Dana Cupit and husband Steve Broussard of Houston, TX, Stan Cupit of Sulphur, and Robert Cupit and fianc Sheri of Sulphur. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren; Graham, Molly and Bryant Jordan of Wylie, TX; Evan, Tory and Samantha Kaspar of Austin, TX; and Aaron, Hannah, Ally and Landon Cupit of Sulphur. Gerry loved playing golf, was a talented pianist, and after retirement spent a lot of time RVing with his wife, Betty, and two great schnauzers, Toby and Chrissie. Visitation will be Friday, June 3, from 5pm - 8pm and Saturday, June 4, from 10am " 2pm, followed by the funeral at Robison Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lake Charles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcome Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030-4009 or a cancer center or foundation of your choice.
